YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Scottish tennis pro Andy Murray — a 2012 Olympic gold medalist, two-time Grand Slam champion and currently ranked number two in the world — has his pied-à-terre condo at the Jade Residences in downtown Miami listed at $2.99 million dollars. Property records we peeped show Mister Murray purchased the high-floor aerie in July 2008 for $1.575 million and online listings indicate a sale is pending.

Marketing materials and other online resources we turned up show the glass-walled, 45^th-floor unit has four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms in 3,415 square feet with wrap-around views that encompass the glimmering Biscayne Bay and Miami’s rapidly evolving skyline plus three terraces that provide 868-square-feet of outdoor living space. A private elevator lobby opens to wee foyer and a combination living/dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows and glass sliders. The dining room half of the room has slab marble flooring and the living room half has dark-stained hardwood floor boards, arguably an odd and off-putting decorative affect despite the high-quality materials. Listing photographs show the condo’s den is sparsely and by this property gossip’s meaningless measure depressingly appointed with little more than a cherry red felt pool table, a child-like abstract painting, and a bright orange faux Arne Jacobson Egg Chair while the adjoining kitchen has a five-sided center island and complete array of top-grade appliances including a warming drawer and integrated coffee/espresso maker. Each of the three guest bedrooms has convenient direct access to a private bathroom — one of which sports a toilet rather daringly set right up next to a huge floor-to-ceiling window — and two of them open to a curved terrace with city overlook. As it turns out, Mister Murry isn’t the only international tennis star who keeps a condo at the Jade Residences. According to the eagle-eyed guys at Celebrity Address Aerial, Argentine ace Juan Martín del Potro — he beat Roger Federer to win the U.S. Open in 2009 — owns an 1,878-square-foot two-bedroom and three-bathroom unit on a middle floor that he picked up over the summer of 2014 for $1.49 million.

The powerful baseline counter-puncher, now 28 and married last year to his long-time girlfriend Kim Sears, was widely reported in 2009 to have acquired a “mock-Regency” mansion about 20 miles southwest of Central London in the affluent suburban village of Oxshott that was last listed at £5.45 million — about $7.909 million at today’s rates according to our handy-dandy currency conversion contraption — and includes six bedrooms and an indoor swimming pool but no tennis court. More recently, in early 2013, the proud Scotsman shelled out about £2 million —a bit more than $2.9 million at today’s rates — for Cromlix House, a 19^th-century Victorian mansion outside his hometown of Dublane that was converted to a luxury boutique hotel and event space in the early 1980s.
