Target teacher discount ends Sunday but teachers can also save at Office Depot, Dollar General, Staples

Target’s back-to-school teacher discount is back for a limited time.

For the fourth year, the retailer is offering educators 15% off select classroom supplies and essentials in-store and online July 18 through July 31, officials shared with USA TODAY. Last year, the teacher savings lasted six weeks amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The discount, which can be redeemed only once during Target’s Teacher Prep Event, is for "K-12 teachers, homeschool teachers, teachers working at daycare centers and early childhood learning centers, university or college professors and vocational/trade/technical school teachers."

But to save, teachers need to verify their eligibility through the Target Circle loyalty program.

Teachers who are Office Depot OfficeMax Rewards members can get a coupon to earn 20% back in rewards on a qualifying in-store purchase at Officedepot.com/teachers.

Also, teachers can get 40% off print services for new classroom posters, instructional materials, student activities and assignments, name tags and more when they present a valid teacher ID in-store at checkout. Both offers are valid through Sept. 30.

The office supply retailer also announced the launch of Classroom Rewards last week. With the program, parents can give a percentage of their in-store Staples purchase back to an enrolled teacher or school of their choice, the retailer said in a news release.
