Strictly Come Dancing’s Dan Walker was rushed to A&E when he bashed his head on a glass window during training.

The BBC Breakfast presenter shared a mask selfie from the hospital ward on Friday.

Although he was not able to tell fans who his Strictly professional partner is, he did reveal she waited for hours in the car park to find out he was OK leaving him confident he has found in her a “friend for life”.

He wrote: “Bit of head-based drama today! After whacking my noggin on the big glass window yesterday I got sent to A & E today because I was feeling a little wobbly.

“A lovely nurse at Barnet Hospital called Karina checked my vitals and 6ft 9 Consultant Erik Witt gave me a CT scan to check for a bleed on the brain. Thankfully… all ok.

“I’ve got to rest for a couple of days - so I’ll be a bit behind - but ready to dig in again next week.

“A timely reminder of how amazing the NHS is and, even though I’m not allowed to tell you who my Strictly pro is… I can tell you that she waited for hours in the car park to make sure I was ok. Whatever happens on the telly… she has a friend for life.”

Many fans rushed to wish Mr Walker to get better soon.

Among his well-wishers, former BBC co-star Louise Minchin sent a sweet message and hoped he would be better soon.

She wrote: “Ouch. Sending you healing thoughts so that you get better soon. X”

Mr Walker will take to the dancefloor on Saturday as he will compete against 14 other celebrities for the Glitter Ball trophy.

Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday 18th September on BBC One.
