‘Storybook’ estate from the golden age of Hollywood lists for $4 million. Take a look

A stunning piece of old Hollywood has landed on the real estate market in Los Angeles for the first time in 50 years. The California estate, an English Tudor Manor that looks like it popped straight from the pages of an elaborate fairy tale, has listed for $3.95 million.

The kicker? The house was once owned by one of the most glamorous screen queens of the Hollywood golden era — Rita Hayworth.

Hayworth, nicknamed “The Great American Love Goddess” was considered one of the ultimate pin-up girls during World War II and starred in 61 films during her epic career including “Gilda,” “Cover Girl,” “Only Angels Have Wings” and “You Were Never Lovelier,” Biography says.

The 3,225-square-foot residence has other old Hollywood connections as well, the listing on Coldwell Banker Realty says and was designed by Allen Siple, who designed the homes of many famous celebrities including Jack Conway, Dale Does the Desert reported.

“Features of this inviting two-story home include spacious rooms with high beamed ceilings, four bedrooms, four bathrooms, wood floors, formal dining room, separate breakfast room, paneled den with wet bar, bonus room, two car garage, two driveways and a central interior courtyard providing additional private living space perfect for entertaining or relaxing,” the listing says.

The home is located in a prestigious neighborhood near UCLA and Beverly Hills. The listing is held by Carolyn Taff and Marion Napier of Coldwell Banker Realty.
