Sony slides on share plan; Apple launches music service; Juno soars on Celgene deal

Here’s a look at some of the stocks the Yahoo Finance team will be tracking for you today.

Sony (SNE) shares are lower in early trading. The Japanese electronics giant announced plans to raise $3.6 billion in capital through stock and convertible bonds. Sony said the sale will help finance increased production in its image sensor business.  

Apple (AAPL) shares are in focus this morning. The tech giant is launching its music service today, which will be available as part of an update for its iOS software. The update will allow users to register for its streaming music service, as well as access its new 24-hour Internet radio station.

Willis Group (WSH) shares are sharply higher in early trading. The insurance broker is merging with professional services group Towers Watson (TW) in an all stock deal valued at $18 billion. The new company will advise more than 80% of the world's top 1,000 companies.

Juno Therapeutics (JUNO) shares are surging this morning after Celgene (CELG) said it would make an initial investment of $1 billion in the biotech firm as part of 10-year partnership that would allow the companies to collaborate in the development of treatments for cancer and autoimmune diseases. The deal will also help Juno better compete with rival Swiss pharmaceutical giant Novartis (NVS).

Apollo Education (APOL) shares are falling in early trading. The for-profit education company cut its outlook for the year after reporting profit fell 27% in its fiscal third quarter, as the number of new enrollments shrank 13% from a year earlier.
