SoCal Burn Ride to Benefit Burn Victims

SoCal Burn Ride to Benefit Burn Victims

A ride to benefit burn victims will take place in Southern California this fall.

On October 8th, the third annual SoCal Burn ride begins at the West Hills Hospital and Medical Center, in Los Angeles. Expected to draw 300-500 riders, the ride and raffle will benefit victims of serious injury.

“It’s a rare cause,” organizers said, “but a lot of victims of burn injuries receive little financial help from insurance to get back on their feet, and many of them deserve it the most (firefighters, veterans, underprivileged children, etc.), so we want to help in any way we can.”

Organized by riders Trevor Holtan, a burn victim himself, and Marine Capt. David Kuntz, the first SoCal Burn Ride attracted some 300 riders for the journey from Calabasas to Ventura.

This year’s charity poker run winds through the Santa Monica Mountains and ends at the Sagebrush Cantina in Calabasas. The site will host the raffle, numerous vendors, and the Pink Floyd tribute band “Which One’s Pink?”

The event is expected to include several national service organizations and local emergency responder groups, in addition to the support of area motorcycle clubs. The organizers also anticipate several celebrity riders as well, as outreach efforts have expanded through social media.
