Immortals is the latest esports organization to make the leap into Smash by announcing the signing of Smash 4 CEO 2016 champion Jason “ANTi” Bates. ANTi revealed he was parting ways with Dream Team last month, and we’ve been waiting to see where he might end up after receiving numerous offers.

“Immortals is committed to bringing not only the highest level of play to our fans, but also to providing an incredible entertainment experience outside of the game,” Immortals CEO Noah Winston said in a statement. “ANTi comes to us as both a top-tier Smash player, and a genuine showman who has nothing but love and respect for his fans. We rarely see a player with such talent across the board, and we’re thrilled to welcome this natural fit into the fold.”

ANTi is ranked 10th on the Panda Global Rankings, which rates the top 50 Smash 4 players in the world. After winning CEO 2016, in which he had a humorous time-out exchange with former Dream Team teammate Samuel “Dabuz” Buzby, ANTi finished 33rd at Evo 2016 and most recently 17th at Shine 2016.

“I chose to sign with Immortals since they are a highly reputable team that wants the best for their players,” he told Yahoo Esports. “I feel ecstatic knowing I’ve signed with an org that I can build a proper future with. We both have similar interests in terms of expanding the Immortals brand to all types of audiences and we will continue to do so.”

ANTi will be competing next at 2GGT: Abadango Saga on September 24.
