Slack: Fiscal Q4 Earnings Snapshot

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Slack Technologies Inc. (WORK) on Thursday reported a loss of $82 million in its fiscal fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the San Francisco-based company said it had a loss of 14 cents. Losses, adjusted for stock option expense and amortization costs, came to 1 cent per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 4 cents per share.

The work messaging service posted revenue of $250.6 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $300.4 million, or 53 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $902.6 million.

Slack shares have declined slightly more than 5% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $39.95, a climb of 44% in the last 12 months.
