NEW YORK, May 14, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Pomerantz LLP is investigating claims on behalf of investors of Village Farms International, Inc. (“Village Farms” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: VFF). Such investors are advised to contact Robert S. Willoughby at email@example.com or 888-476-6529, ext. 9980.
The investigation concerns whether Village Farms and certain of its officers and/or directors have engaged in securities fraud or other unlawful business practices.
On April 16, 2019, Citron Research published a report entitled “Citron presents the Red Flag Why the SEC should investigate Village Farms” (the “Citron Report”). The Citron Report alleged, among other things, that in entering into a joint venture with Emerald Health Therapeutics (“Emerald Health”) and Pure Sunfarms in order to enter the cannabis market, “Village Farms has moved to the dark side by partnering with shady stock promoters that have a track record of failed businesses and [joint ventures] while insiders at both Village Farms and Emerald Health have dumped stock.”
Following the publication of the Citron Report, Village Farms’ stock price fell $1.38 per share, or 10.87%, to close at $11.31 on April 16, 2019, damaging investors.
