SEC announces its COVID-19 makeup game schedule for Dec. 12 and Dec. 19
The SEC’s makeup game schedule is official.
The conference announced Friday that it would try to make up 10 games over Dec. 12 and Dec. 19 so that every team in the conference plays a full 10-game schedule. There are six makeup games scheduled for Dec. 12 and four games are scheduled for Dec. 19, the day of the SEC championship game.
Florida and Alabama are likely going to meet in that SEC title game. Both teams have to lose on Saturday (Florida at Tennessee, Alabama at LSU) for the game not to happen since each team has the head-to-head tiebreaker over their nearest pursuers.
If, for some reason, Alabama loses to LSU on Saturday and to Arkansas on Dec. 12 and Texas A&M finishes the season with one loss, the Aggies will not play at Tennessee on Dec. 19 and will instead play in the SEC title game.
A&M, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Missouri, Tennessee and Vanderbilt are all playing two games over the two makeup game weekends. Alabama, Florida and Auburn each need to make up one game.
Georgia and Vanderbilt were added to the makeup game list on Friday when Vanderbilt said it was unable to play Saturday’s game against the Bulldogs.
