Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson lead Fox News to November ratings victory

It’s no secret among primetime TV viewers that people seeking friendlier coverage of President Trump and his policies will tune in to Fox News. Viewers looking for coverage of the president that is more, say, critical will keep surfing channels until they reach CNN or MSNBC.

For Fox News, Trump has been great for business. According to new data from Nielsen, more viewers tuned into watch Fox’s midterm coverage than they did rivals CNN and MSNBC.

Here’s a breakdown of the numbers.

During daytime programming in November, Fox News had a total of 1,478,000 viewers. MSNBC came in second with 1,024,000 and CNN was third with 763,000 viewers.

Fox News also dominated in primetime with 2,443,000 total viewers. MSNBC came in second with 1,835,000 and CNN was third with 1,122,000 viewers.

When it comes to the top 5 shows on cable news in November, four out of the top five were produced by Fox News. Hannity came in first place, with 3,031,000 total viewers, Tucker Carlson Tonight took third place, with 2,830,000. The Five, with 2,619,000 viewers, and The Ingraham Angle, with 2,564,000 watchers, took the fourth and fifth spots. MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show came in second place among the most watched top 5 shows with 2,900,000 viewers.

But, Fox might not be enough for Trump. He recently tweeted about “the possibility of the United States starting our own Worldwide Network to show the World the way we really are, GREAT!”
