Sarah Jessica Parker Says Willie Garson's Death Has Been "Unbearable"

·2 min read

Update September 24, 2021: Sarah Jessica Parker shared a lengthy Instagram post mourning the death of her friend and co-star Willie Garson, sharing that their friendship lasted more than three decades and that it's taken time for her to collect herself in the wake of his death.

"It's been unbearable," she began, acknowledging that she may have been late with her message. "Sometimes silence is a statement."

"I will miss everything about you. And replay our last moments together. I will re-read every text from your final days and put to pen our last calls," her caption continued. She also shared a gallery of photos showing the two of them together, both on and off the set of Sex and the City. "Your absence a crater that I will fill with blessing of these memories and all the ones that are still in recesses yet to surface."

Previously: The day after news of Willie Garson's death made headlines and fans everywhere offered their condolences to his family and shared memories of their time with him, one of his most prominent co-stars, Sarah Jessica Parker, is still processing the passing of her friend. While Sex and the City's cast, including Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, shared messages on social media, Parker's only message to friends and fans was a comment on Chris Noth's post.

Noth shared an image of Parker and Garson from the show, simply writing "Willie" alongside the photo. In the comments, Parker wrote, "Thank you dearest Chris. I'm not ready yet. Xxx," according to Entertainment Tonight.

Kim Cattrall also shared a message on Twitter, writing, "Such sad news and a terribly sad loss to the SATC family. Our condolences and RIP dear Willie xo."

"So deeply, deeply sad we have lost @Willie.Garson. We all loved him and adored working with him. He was endlessly funny on-screen and in real life," Nixon wrote on Instagram.

Davis shared that she first met Garson on the set of The X-Files before reminding everyone how much he is loved by the SATC community.

"I first met Willie in 1995 on the spooky nighttime set of the X-Files. He immediately made me laugh," she wrote on Instagram. "Little did I know that we would have the joy of sharing Sex and the City + And Just Like That together. Willie is beloved by our entire community. He was smarter and funnier than you ever would have imagined. We are bereft without him."
