Safeguard Scientifics: Q4 Earnings Snapshot

RADNOR, Pa. (AP) _ Safeguard Scientifics Inc. (SFE) on Wednesday reported a loss of $7.4 million in its fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Radnor, Pennsylvania-based company said it had a loss of 35 cents. Losses, adjusted for asset impairment costs, were 22 cents per share.

For the year, the company reported a loss of $37.6 million, or $1.81 per share, swinging to a loss in the period.

Safeguard Scientifics shares have risen 24% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $7.88, a fall of 9% in the last 12 months.
