It's said to be very fast.

In a bold move that signifies a new era in luxury electric vehicles, Rolls-Royce is reportedly preparing to unveil a Black Badge variant of its first production electric vehicle, the Spectre EV. Leaked Australian government certification documents, as reported by the local publication Drive, indicate an exciting development in the Rolls-Royce lineup, blending electric innovation with the esteemed performance and luxury the brand is known for.

The upcoming Spectre Black Badge, as per the leaks, is set to be a high-performance marvel, boasting an impressive 650 horsepower. This significant enhancement over the standard model’s 577 horsepower positions the Black Badge as a pinnacle of power and luxury in the electric vehicle segment. The Spectre, having made its debut earlier in 2023, is already turning heads, and this new development is expected to elevate the model even further.

The Black Badge treatment, synonymous with Rolls-Royce’s commitment to excellence, is expected to include various aesthetic and performance upgrades. Prospective owners can anticipate dark accents and design elements that exude a sense of mystique and sophistication, along with a suspension system fine-tuned for a more dynamic driving experience. Additionally, the model will feature bespoke wheels and exclusive interior trims, offering a level of customization that Rolls-Royce clients cherish.

Despite its enhanced performance, the Spectre Black Badge aims to maintain a competitive driving range, with only a slight reduction from the standard model’s figures. The documents suggest a range of up to 342 miles, marginally less than the standard Spectre's 345 miles. It's important to note that these figures are based on Australian testing methodologies, with the U.S. version of the standard Spectre currently boasting a 260-mile range on the EPA cycle.

Rolls-Royce has yet to officially confirm the existence of the Spectre EV Black Badge variant, including details of its 650-horsepower drivetrain. However, if the leaks hold true, the automotive world can expect an announcement from the esteemed British marque soon. In line with Rolls-Royce tradition, the Black Badge is poised to command a higher price than its standard counterpart, reflecting the elevated status and exclusivity of this electrifying addition to the Rolls-Royce family.

As anticipation builds, aficionados of the brand and electric vehicle enthusiasts alike eagerly await further details on what could be a game-changing model in the luxury EV market. With the Spectre EV Black Badge, Rolls-Royce continues to demonstrate its commitment to innovation, performance, and luxury, all while embracing the electric future of the automotive industry.
