Resident Evil Village DLC confirmed by Capcom

Resident Evil Village released last month and a lot of people seemed to really like it, including us here at Digital Spy, so much so that Capcom has announced that work has begun on DLC for it.

Capcom made the announcement last week during their E3 showcase, stating (via PC Gamer): "By popular demand, development has just started on additional DLC for Resident Evil Village. More info later."

And that was it, no hint as to what the DLC might be or a release window aim. Nothing. To be fair, this year's entire E3 was seen as underwhelming.

We do wonder if the DLC will focus on Lady Dimitrescu, who became the game's breakout character thanks to the trailers and the revelation that she was very tall (people really latched onto the tall thing, for some reason).

She wasn't in the actual game all that much, however, so it'd be good to capitalise on that 'popular demand'.

Of course, Capcom may have already planned out the DLC a long time ago, and have only just given it the go-ahead because of the strong sales, meaning it could go in a non-Dimitrescu direction. We'll just have to wait and see.

Meanwhile, the pack-in online game Resident Evil RE:Verse is due to arrive in July.

Resident Evil Village is available now on PS4, Ps5, Xbox One, Xbox Series XS and PC.
