The remains of an Alberta man missing since June have been found near Crowsnest Pass, police say.
RCMP in Crowsnest Pass — 165 kilometres southwest of Calgary — received a report from Alberta Fish and Wildlife on July 20 about possible human remains in a rural area.
The Alberta RCMP major crimes and forensics teams went to the scene and identified the remains as Lane Tail Feathers, a 35-year-old man from Fort MacLeod, Alta., who was reported missing by his family on June 20.
Tail Feathers had been last seen in Fort MacLeod — a town nearly 155 kilometres southeast of Calgary and just over 80 kilometres northeast of Crowsnest Pass.
RCMP are treating the death as suspicious, they said in a news release.
Alberta RCMP Major Crimes have taken over the investigation. An update will be provided when there is more information, police say.
