    • Number of vehicles affected: 1

    • Date of manufacture: June 7, 2016

    • Issue: This vehicle has electronic power steering (EPS) and the contact pins on the EPS control unit may not have been welded properly, resulting in increased resistance. An increase in pin contact resistance can increase the risk of a fire, even while the vehicle is parked and the ignition is off.

    • Remedy: BMW will notify the owner, and a dealer will replace the EPS system free of charge.

    • Timing: The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owner may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.

    • NHTSA recall number: 16V704000

    • Issue: The electric parking brake (EPB) may not engage if it is applied immediately after turning the ignition off. If the EPB is not applied, the vehicle may roll away, increasing the risk of a crash.

    • Remedy: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle's software to allow the EPB to engage immediately after the ignition is turned off. The work will be performed free of charge to vehicle owners.

    • Timing: The recall is expected to begin November 8, 2016. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138.

    • Number of vehicles affected: 12,214

    • Date of manufacture: November 13, 2015 through April 23, 2016

    • Issue: In the affected vehicles, which are equipped with a 2.4-liter engine, the right front axle driveshaft may crack and fail. If the driveshaft cracks and separates from the vehicle it will not be able to move forward. Additionally, if the parking brake is not applied upon exiting the vehicle, the vehicle may roll.

    • Remedy: Kia will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front axle driveshaft free of charge.

    • Timing: The recall is expected to begin November 29, 2016. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542.

    • Date of manufacture: September 21, 2016 through September 23, 2016

    • Issue: The knee guard bracket may not be properly attached to the steering beam assembly. If the knee guard is not properly attached and the driver is not wearing a seat belt, the knee guard may not be able to properly restrain the driver's lower body in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

    • Remedy: Subaru will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the knee guard welding on each vehicle's steering beam, replacing the beam as necessary, free of charge.
