Ever since Big Macs were launched in McDonald’s, everyone has wanted to buy the special sauce inside - but one desperate person has paid nearly £70k to get their hands on it,

A mystery buyer forked out a whopping £69,500 to buy the bottle of Big Mac sauce on eBay, after it went on limited sale.

McDonald’s put the bottle up for auction to raise money for charity, and it was the centre of a two-week bidding battle as buyers upped the stakes.

A spokesman confirmed: “The Big Mac burger sauce is so hard to get hold of.

“The bottle will be delivered to its owner in a special collector’s box, with a voucher for a free burger.”

Just 500 bottles of the sauce were produced - but sadly they won’t be going on sale in the UK.

Australian outlets are set to be swamped as they are among the select few who will be selling the sauce, that has long been desired by burger fans.

McDonald’s is now trying to determine whether the massive bid is genuine.
