The Queen will be in Scotland next week when her grandsons Harry and William reunite to unveil a statue of their mother.

The 95-year-old monarch is taking her traditional trip to Scotland for Holyrood Week where she will carry out in-person engagements celebrating Scottish community, innovation and history over four days, between Monday June 28 and Thursday July 1.

Buckingham Palace said: “This year’s Royal Week will continue to recognise the good work and contribution of individuals and communities, through a range of in-person visits by Her Majesty.”

The trip means the Queen will be in Scotland for what would have been Princess Diana’s 60th birthday - a day that will see William and Harry reunited.

Prince Harry will fly from his US home to be with his brother for a memorial service and the unveiling.

Their father, Prince Charles, will also be in Scotland at the same time.

Harry is expected to put on a united front at the event at Kensington Palace with his older brother who he last saw in person at Prince Philip’s funeral in April.

The statue will stand in the garden of the palace to commemorate what would have been her 60th birthday after it was commissioned by her sons in 2017.

The brothers are reported to have been communicating by text amid a bitter fallout.

William will also join the Queen in Scotland on Monday with Princess Anne accompanying her on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Queen, who has continued with her duties as head of state despite grieving for her late husband, will stay at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, her official residence in Scotland.

Holyrood Week, also known as Royal Week, did not take place last year because of the pandemic.

In line with government guidelines, traditional events hosting thousands of people such as the garden party at Holyroodhouse will not be taking place.
