Pumpkin patches you need to visit this fall in the Sacramento region

The Halloween season is quickly creeping upon us, as the nights get cooler and the colors of the leaves change. While this time of year is all about gummies, goblins and ghouls for some, it also means apple pie, corn mazes and hayrides. Whichever fall activity hits your sweet tooth just right, you can do it all at some of Sacramento’s top pumpkin patches.

Here are the top gourd and squash-filled farms in the Sacramento area that you and your loved ones should visit this fall.

Dave’s Pumpkin Patch

At Dave’s Pumpkin Patch on Vierra Farms, you’ll find pig races, a hay pyramid, farm animals, hayrides and a 10-acre corn maze as part of the “Cornival.” Children can also bounce on what the farm calls a “Jumping Pillow” or they can play in the Corn Box, which is a sandbox filled with corn kernels. And on weekends, you can watch pumpkins being chucked into the air.
