Procter & Gamble (PG) Gains But Lags Market: What You Should Know

In the latest trading session, Procter & Gamble (PG) closed at $122, marking a +0.88% move from the previous day. This change lagged the S&P 500's 0.91% gain on the day. Meanwhile, the Dow gained 0.7%, and the Nasdaq, a tech-heavy index, added 1.02%.

Coming into today, shares of the world's largest consumer products maker had gained 0.88% in the past month. In that same time, the Consumer Staples sector lost 2.39%, while the S&P 500 lost 2.74%.

Wall Street will be looking for positivity from PG as it approaches its next earnings report date. This is expected to be October 22, 2019. On that day, PG is projected to report earnings of $1.24 per share, which would represent year-over-year growth of 10.71%.
