Shares of CRISPR Therapeutics (NASDAQ: CRSP) sank 12.5% in November, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence. The biotech company published better-than-expected third-quarter earnings in the month and provided an update on its product pipeline, but its stock sold off amid bearish momentum for the broader market. Catalysts weighing on the stock market last month included rising Treasury bond yields, ongoing supply-chain issues, and the threat that the emergence of the omicron coronavirus variant would create additional economic disruptions.
Asian share markets got off to a cautious start on Monday as Omicron emerged in more countries and investors faced a week-long wait for key U.S. inflation figures that could settle the course of interest rates. A mixed U.S. jobs report did little to shake market expectations of a more aggressive tightening by the Federal Reserve and the consumer price report due on Friday was likely to make the case for an early tapering. Omicron remained a concern as the variant spread to about one-third of U.S. states, though there were reports from South Africa that cases there had mild symptoms.
C.J. Mosley felt the disrespect when the Philadelphia Eagles didn't shake hands at midfield during the pregame coin toss. The New York Jets linebacker saw it when he said Fletcher Cox laughed at Robert Saleh as the coach argued with officials about a call. “At the end of the day, it's all about respect,” Mosley said after a 33-18 loss Sunday.
NEWRY, Maine (AP) — Santa is back to “sleighing” it on the ski slope. More than 230 skiing and snowboarding Kris Kringles took to a western Maine resort on Sunday to raise money for charity. The jolly ol’ St. Nicks took a break last year because of the global pandemic. But they returned to kick off the ski season in full holiday garb, including white beards, red hats and red outfits. A sea of red Santa suits descended the mountain, carving wide turns as their beards fluttered in the icy wind. At
CINCINNATI (AP) — Joe Mixon's first fumble in a long time was a costly one — just one small slice of a rough day for the Cincinnati Bengals. Joe Burrow threw two interceptions, lost a fumble and was sacked six times during Cincinnati's 41-22 loss to Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. Mixon totaled just 54 yards on the ground against one of the NFL's worst run defenses. The Bengals (7-5) were hoping to build on consecutive wins against Las Vegas and Pittsburgh. Instead, they g

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Taylor Heinicke threw two touchdown passes and set up new kicker Brian Johnson's game-winning 48-yard field goal with 37 seconds remaining to lead Washington to its fourth straight win, 17-15 over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. Heinicke threw a 7-yard TD pass to Logan Thomas on the opening drive and a 4-yarder to Antonio Gibson early in the fourth quarter after extending the drive with a key third-down scramble. Stafford passed for 295 yards while Sony Michel rushed for 121 yards and a score for the Rams (8-4), who rebounded from a winless November with a solid all-around effort against a struggling opponent. Kupp had his 100th reception of a remarkable season a
