Placer County deputies arrest man, saying he held a sawed off car part — and the saw

A 41-year-old man allegedly carrying a stolen car part, a saw and other stolen items has been arrested by Placer County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

Clarence Wayne Anderson was arrested Monday in Roseville after deputies responded to an alarm at a business on Viking Place, according to a Sheriff’s Office Facebook post Thursday. As deputies were investigating, Anderson began walking toward them.

Anderson was holding a red electric saw with a fixed blade and a sawed off catalytic converter, according to the post. Deputies took him into custody after ordering him to drop the items.

The converter came from a car inside a locked gate at a business, the post stated, and deputies found two leaf blowers in Anderson’s car that also are believed to belong to nearby businesses.

Anderson was arrested on suspicion of burglary, violation of probation, vandalism, tampering with a vehicle and receiving stolen property, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
