Quietly, Ford introduced a new Sport Appearance package for the restyled 2017 Escape SUV. This option features blacked-out exterior trim, dark painted 19-in. wheels, and 2-tone black and gray seating with a ribbed insert pattern. The upgrade is available for SE and Titanium trim levels of the Escape.

For 2017, the Ford Explorer XLT gets a new Sport Appearance package, with darkened exterior trim and wheels as well as unique front seats. Redesigned for 2017, the Kia Optima Hybrid is expected to get 42 mpg in combined driving and boasts a coefficient of drag equal to a Tesla Model S. It is offered in base and EX trim levels, and because of its battery configuration, boasts a 13.3 cu.-ft. trunk and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat to expand utility.

2017 Kia Optima Plug-in Hybrid
Take one Optima Hybrid, add a bigger electric motor and battery pack (which cuts into trunk space), make a handful of other relevant modifications, and you’ve got the Optima Plug-in Hybrid. It can travel 27 miles on nothing but electricity and recharges in less than 9 hours using a standard household outlet, Kia says. When the battery reaches a minimum state of charge, this car works just like a regular hybrid, getting 40 mpg in combined driving, according to Kia’s estimates.

A new Nissan Armada is coming soon, based on the company’s global SUV, the Nissan Patrol. If it looks a bit like an Infiniti QX80, your eyes do not deceive you, as the QX is also based on the Patrol. Sized like a Chevy Tahoe, the 8-passenger Armada’s pricing should fit comfortably beneath the Infiniti.

With the debut of the new half-ton 2017 Titan in Chicago, there are two different Titan models to consider. This one is the smaller, cheaper, and less capable model. The Titan XD is the bigger, more expensive, and more capable model. The 2017 Titan half-ton offers V-6 or V-8 power, and will be available in regular, extended, and crew cab styles.
