‘Paradise’ in Ohio Tops This Week’s Most Popular Homes

Want a whole lot of house? Head to the Midwest, location of this week’s most popular home on realtor.com®. A traditional contemporary in Batavia Township, OH, had the internet abuzz over all other domiciles.

And we can see why: With almost 5,000 square feet on 5 acres, a heated garage, and a separate barn, it’s either a “car enthusiast’s or nature lover’s paradise,” according to the listing. Or, we might add, a golfer’s dream house, given its proximity to Elks Run Golf Course.

This week’s sizzling hot midsummer list of popular homes was, literally, all over the map—the eastern U.S. map, that is. Three of the listings are in New Jersey or New York, and two are in Pennsylvania. In fact, there’s a real deal (better move fast!) in Flushing, Queens, while a deal on a different level is on deck for a fancy gated estate in Jersey. Plus, there’s a must-see property in Maine.

This list counted a charmer in Memphis, TN, as well as a cute Colonial in Greensboro, NC. We were also taken by a waterside home in sunny Florida.

The West didn’t make a showing at all this week, so stay tuned next week to see if it comes storming back. Meanwhile, check out this list of charmers at (mostly) good prices.

10. 912 Jefferson Rd, Greensboro, NC

Price: $268,000
Why it’s here: This Colonial has loads of curb appeal, from its red door out front, to the in-ground pool and spa out back. Indoors, the 1969 home features an updated kitchen, an inviting sunroom, and a huge deck.

9. 2244 Harbert Ave, Memphis, TN

Price: $179,900
Why it’s here: You had us at front porch. This three-bedroom, two-bathroom offers a surprising amount of space, with its double lot and attached garage. With a screened-in porch and big backyard, there’s plenty of room to lounge about.

8. 11952 NW 54th Pl, Coral Springs, FL

Price: $399,900
Why it’s here: Who can resist a warm-weather residence complete with patio and pool? The 2,455-square-foot home comes with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, an updated kitchen, and fresh paint in the gated community of the Island at Wyndom Lakes.

7. 35-14 192nd St Apt C3, Flushing, NY

Price: $185,000
Why it’s here: We have to admit, this listing, with only one photo, took us completely by surprise. Until we saw the price. For under $200,000, your starter home in New York City awaits. The scant description calls this one-bedroom, one-bathroom co-op on the second floor a “garden style apartment” with hardwood floors. Another draw: It’s close to public transit. Which is good, because there’s a waiting list for parking in the building. (To all you non-New Yorkers: Queens in the new Brooklyn. Really.)

6. 55 Lane of Acres, Haddonfield, NJ

Price: $5,100,000
Why it’s here: Definitely not bargain basement in terms of price, the 6,800-square-foot gated home still offers a lot for the money, including five bedrooms, four bathrooms, elevator, chef’s kitchen, breakfast area with fireplace, great room, master suite, sauna, gym, walk-in humidor, game room, card room, theater, and wet bar. Bonus: The place comes fully furnished.
