Yahoo Finance ‘Page Six’ Potentially Figured Out the Identity of the “Massive Movie Star” From Jessica Simpson’s Blind Item

So a couple of days ago, Jessica Simpson casually dropped a short story on Amazon, revealing that a “massive movie star” tried to seduce her. In other words, she wrote a blind item and now everyone’s trying to figure out this man’s identity—and it looks like Page Six potentially did just that.

First of all, here’s Jessica’s description of her hug with this mystery man—who she met at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards—via People:
“He gave me a different hug, a modified celebrity embrace he held a few seconds longer than I expected. As our mutual friend, my bodyguard, talked, this megastar, who I grew up thinking was so hot, eyeballed me up and down. Like he was undressing me with his eyes, which was fine because I had plenty of reasons to ditch that outfit and change.”
Jessica also describes the moment she laid eyes on him, writing, “I saw his face suddenly brighten at someone behind me, and I turned to see the packed crowd somehow parting as a massive movie star walked toward us in jeans and a T-shirt. My bodyguard had said they were friends, but I’d wondered if he had maybe been exaggerating. Judging by the clenched handshake bro hug, the love was real.”
So, who is he? According to Page Six, potentially Mark Wahlberg. He was at the VMAs, he was a massive movie star at the time, and he was wearing jeans and a T-shirt to the event—which is what Jessica describes her mystery man as wearing.
The outlet also notes that the unidentified star revealed that he spoke with a spiritual adviser about her and that Mark has been “very vocal about his relationship with a Boston priest.” Obviously, this is pure speculation on the part of Page Six (which has more compelling proof on its site), so take it with a grain of salt!
