Pagani Huayra recalled in the U.S., all 32 of them

When you’re spending in excess of $2 million on a car, you expect things to be perfect. Unfortunately, things can and do go wrong at times, even in this rarefied league, as is the case of a recall concerning the Pagani Huayra.

It turns out the steering wheel-mounted airbag may not remain properly secured to the wheel hub in the case it’s deployed. This could lead to the airbag not deploying properly which in turn could cause injury.

Fortunately a simple fix solves the issue. New fasteners need to be installed on the steering wheel air bag assembly, a service Pagani’s registered dealers will handle for free.

The recall affects all Huayra manufactured between April 21, 2014 through July 29, 2016. The earlier date coincides with when the Huayra was introduced to the United States and according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration 32 cars are affected, or pretty much all of them in the country.

That might not sound like a lot but remember Pagani is only building 100 Huayra coupes in total. Once the 100th car is complete, Pagani plans to start building a Huayra Roadster.

For further information on the recall you can contact NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236 (reference recall campaign number 16V588000) or Pagani at 1-415-350-7220.
