Oregon jumps into the top 10 in post-Week 12 AP top 25
Welcome to the top 10, Oregon.
The Ducks held on for a 38-35 home win over UCLA on Saturday afternoon and were rewarded with a two-spot jump in the rankings in the post-Week 12 AP top 25.
Oregon moves into the top 10 because No. 9 Indiana lost 42-35 to No. 3 Ohio State. The Hoosiers fell three spots to No. 12. Northwestern moved up eight spots to No. 11 just ahead of Indiana with a 17-7 win over Wisconsin. Wisconsin, which was at No. 10, dropped to No. 18.
The top eight teams in the AP poll didn’t change from Week 11. Alabama leads the poll and is followed by Notre Dame, Ohio State, Clemson, Texas A&M, Florida, Cincinnati and BYU.
Oklahoma moved up to No. 14 after beating Oklahoma State on Saturday night. The Cowboys fell to No. 21.
Liberty was undefeated and No. 21 in the Week 11 AP poll. But the Flames lost on Saturday to NC State and are out of the top 25. North Carolina moves into the poll at No. 25 in Liberty’s place.
As a reminder, Tuesday brings us the first College Football Playoff rankings of the season. We’ll see how much they line up with the AP poll.
