Ooma: Fiscal 4Q Earnings Snapshot

SUNNYVALE, Calif. (AP) _ Ooma Inc. (OOMA) on Monday reported a loss of $595,000 in its fiscal fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Sunnyvale, California-based company said it had a loss of 3 cents. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and amortization costs, were 12 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 9 cents per share.

The internet phone service provider posted revenue of $44.3 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $43.2 million.

For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $2.4 million, or 11 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $168.9 million.

For the current quarter ending in May, Ooma expects its per-share earnings to range from 7 cents to 10 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $44 million to $44.8 million for the fiscal first quarter.

Ooma expects full-year earnings in the range of 26 cents to 34 cents per share, with revenue ranging from $182.5 million to $185.5 million.

Ooma shares have climbed 14% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $16.42, an increase of 30% in the last 12 months.
