For One Month, McDonald's Is Changing Its Name In Australia

McDonald's is changing its name.

Well, only in Australia.

And just for one month.

You see, Australians have a nickname for McDonald's. They call it "Macca's," and surveys show that at least 50 percent of Australians use it, according to Reuters.

So in celebration of Australia Day on January 26, McDonald's will temporarily change the signs at a bunch of its stores around the country. There will be 13 stores that will change their signs this week, starting in New South Wales.

The McDonald's signs will return on February 4.

It's the first time that McDonald's has done something like this anywhere around the world.
