Once High Fliers, China Airline Stocks Plummet
Investing.com – Chinese airline stocks continue to take a drubbing the Hong Kong bourse, just months after being tipped for big gains.
A combination of bearish investors, a rising dollar and more expensive oil are playing havoc with the share values of Chinese airlines listed in Hong Kong.
During Monday morning trade in Asia, China Southern Airlines Co Ltd (HK:1055) was down 4.44% to HKD4.74. It is down from HKD8.80 in June.
China Eastern Airlines Corp Ltd (HK:0670) was down 3.61% to HKD4.80. It is down from HKD6.89 In mid-June.
Air China Ltd (HK:0753) was down 2.93% on Monday morning in Asia to HKD6.96. It was trading above HKD10.40 in mid-May.
