Here are the news sites that use up the most data when you load them on your iPhone

Publishers are wringing their hands because Apple made it easier to build ad blockers for the iPhone and iPad. Many are concerned that a lot of people will block ads on their websites, cutting off their main source of revenue.

Proponents of ad blocking point out that some sites have enormous web pages full of ads. Users visiting these web sites can burn through their data plans more quickly than they might expect.

So which sites are the worst? The New York Times did a test of the top 50 news site home pages on the iPhone, and Statista has charted the 10 that use the most data. For comparison's sake, we also added The New York Times and Business Insider, which are among the more efficient sites measured.
