Netflix expands, Amazon teams up with Marriott, Wells Fargo merging wealth management groups

Here’s a look at some of the companies the Yahoo Finance team will be watching for you today.

Netflix (NFLX) is coming to a lot more places. The site has signed a deal with Dish Network (DISH), to bring its streaming service to more hotel rooms. This as at least 3 brokerage firms raise their price target on the stock, including Piper Jaffray which now has a target of $420 a share. Analysts say they see strong subscriber growth boosting Netflix’s bottom line in the coming months.

Amazon (AMZN) is bringing Alexa to hotel rooms. The company just struck a deal with Marriott — to install Echo devices at select properties, including some Marriott, Westin and Saint Regis hotels. Amazon says the devices will do everything from play music to control the lights to order room service.

Wells Fargo (WFC) is shaking up its wealth management business. The Wall Street Journal says the bank is planning to combine its Wealth Brokerage Services and Private Client Group. Both divisions deal with wealthy clients. It comes as Wells faces government investigations over client referrals. More than 12,000 brokers work across the two divisions. It’s not clear if the move will result in layoffs.

A big deal in the biotech world. Foundation Medicine (FMI) is being bought out by Swiss drugmaker Roche for $2.4B. Roche already owns about half of the company, which does genetic profiling for cancer treatments. Roche says owning all of Foundation Medicine will help it create new cancer treatments.

Apple (AAPL) has lost a fight over repairing some devices in Australia. A court there has fined the company $6.7M, for refusing to repair devices that had been bricked by a faulty operating system update. Apple had argued the warranties were voided because the devices had been serviced by non-Apple stores.
