Music Exec Jordan Schur Sells Ocean-View Villa in Santa Monica (EXCLUSIVE)

We first heard it from real-estate yenta Yolanda Yakettyyak, and property records confirm, that veteran music and movie executive Jordan Schur sold an ocean-view villa in Santa Monica in an off-market deal for exactly $9 million, impressively above its last published price tag of $8.65 million. Schur, who once served as president of Geffen Records and currently is co-chairman of Suretone Entertainment, purchased the property in the spring of 2003 for $3.8 million. Our research indicates that the 6,800-square-foot residence has been on and off the market many times since early 2009, with asking prices ranging between $6.29 million and $10.5 million.

Marketing materials from earlier this year describe the four bedroom house, which has five full and two half baths, as an a “villa modeled after the Amalfi Coast that invokes antique charm and Italian romanticism.” Privately positioned behind gates, and snugly nestled into a hillside promontory that affords it canyon-framed, whitewater views, the house has a sunset-facing sunken living room and fetching oval-shaped formal dining room with inlaid terra-cotta tile floors. French doors lead to a stone-balustraded, semicircular terrace with panoramic ocean and mountain views. The intriguingly round kitchen features a generously high, exposed-wood ceiling and adjoins an informal dining area and family room with fireplace, wood-beamed ceiling, and French doors to a courtyard with a kidney-shaped spa. Lower-level living spaces include a second kitchen, a home gym, a sizable screening room, and a semicircular loggia lined with Tuscan-style carved stone columns.
