The designer of The Mark Hotel penthouse has worked with everyone from Princess Caroline of Monaco to Yves Saint Laurent.

Up until recently, the most expensive known hotel suite in America was the $50,000-per-night Ty Warner penthouse atop the Four Seasons Hotel New York.

But now that legendary interior designer Jacques Grange has put the finishing touches on the palatial penthouse at The Mark Hotel, the country has a new most expensive hotel suite. At $75,000 per night and over 12,000 square feet, the hotel penthouse is also touted as America's largest.

The Mark says it is "pioneering a brand new category of hotel luxury ‘super suites’" with the space.

The formal living room gets just the right amount of natural light.

Below the suite's vaulted ceilings are five bedrooms, four fireplaces, six bathrooms, two powder rooms, and two wet bars. Not to mention a conservatory, library lounge, and a stately dining room that can cater parties of 24 or more.

All of the furnishings are custom-designed.

For fresh air, there is also a private rooftop terrace offering breathtaking views of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Central Park, and the Manhattan skyline.

The private terrace is like the waiting room for heaven.

The massive space takes up the top two floors of the hotel and includes a dual access elevator for guests. Chef Jean-Georges, who operates the hotel's signature restaurant, has prepared an exclusive menu that can be served on the penthouse's terrace.

The suite design represents quiet luxury at its best.

Like all guests of The Mark, penthouse dwellers have 24-hour room service at their fingertips, as well as in-house dining and services from The Mark Restaurant by Chef Jean-Georges, Frédéric Fekkai Salon, personal training by Dan Flores at The Mark Fitness Center, a fleet of bicycles and pedicabs (plus en suite chauffeur service), and 24-hour access to Bergdorf Goodman.

Myriad other whimsies make up a stay at The Mark, such as Ladurée macarons left at your bedside and Italian toiletries made exclusively for the five-star hotel.
