Michelle Visage has shared that she lost "many" Donald Trump-supporting friends over the recent US Presidential election.

The Drag Race judge made the revelation while speaking to Kate Thornton on White Wine Question Time as she reflected on what made good friendships.

While the 52-year-old said she accepts people having the right to choose, she believes the friendships came to an end because of the other party’s reluctance to discuss their choice.

"I think so many of us judge other people, especially though this Trump administration I lost many friends, mostly because they couldn't have a conversation with me. So it was just 'I'm voting for him and that's the end'. Okay, you can vote for him that's your right but let's talk about what you're supporting," she explained.

"I have a gay daughter, so you're right away voting against my daughter and her rights so did you think about that? Have you thought about that? Have you thought about what Trump is doing to trans people?”

Visage publicly supported Democratic Party candidate Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris, who are set to be sworn in as President and Vice President, respectively, on Wednesday.

"I lost a lot of people over this election, mostly because they didn't want to talk and discuss," Visage told Thornton. "It was just their way or no way.

"I think you grow as friends by listening to each other, I'm still friends with people who voted for him but we understand each other. They listen to me, they understood what I was saying. They had no idea, they wished they hadn't now if they knew so it's all about conversation and understanding."

Back in November when Joe Biden was called as the winner of the election, Visage celebrated on social media.

"AMERICA IS OFFICIALLY GREAT AGAIN! #BLUEWAVE #GURLBYE #PRESIDENTBIDEN #VEEPHARRIS," she wrote on Instagram alongside a snap of Joe Biden on a TV screen.

Visage also reflected on her decades-long friendship with RuPaul, stating she loves him for "who he is" and that they very rarely come to blows.

She said: "Ru and I never really had many, if any, disagreements or fallouts or misunderstandings I think we understand each other fully."
