Meghan Markle is remaining a supportive presence for the families of the Uvalde school shooting victims. In the aftermath of the horrific shooting at Robb Elementary School that claimed the lives of 19 students and two teachers, the Duchess of Sussex traveled to the rural Texas town to offer her condolences and support the community.

At the time, Markle's spokesperson told Town & Country that Meghan took the trip in a "personal capacity as a mother" to "offer her condolences and support in person to a community experiencing unimaginable grief." While in Uvalde, she stopped by the community center, dropping off donations of food and beverages for blood drive donors.

In the last month, Markle has maintained her support from afar. The nephew of Irma Garcia, one of the teachers killed, shared on Twitter that the Duchess of Sussex called his mom to check in with her.

"The way my mom just got off the phone with Meghan Markle... the Duchess, she's so sweet and lovely, she really went out of her way to check on the family, it means so much," he tweeted.

Markle has also been supporting those working to end gun violence, sending snacks and a note of encouragement to Moms Demand Action volunteers.

"Good afternoon ladies! To each of you and your fearless leader, Shannon, a huge thank you for the work you are doing to keep our kids, families, and communities safe," she wrote. "Please know while you may feel exhausted by your endless hours of dedication to this cause, I hope you feel energized in knowing the work you're doing is vital and so deeply appreciated. As a mom, as a friend, thank you so much!"

Moms Demand Action founder Shannon Watts shared the note, and revealed that Markle sent donuts, bagels, coffee, cookies, and more to her volunteers and staff.
