Mason Graphite Announces Partnership With Manicouagan-Uapishka Biosphere Reserve on the Sustainable Development and Social Acceptability of the Lac Gueret Project

BAIE-COMEAU, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 3, 2015) - Mason Graphite Inc. ("Mason Graphite" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:LLG)(MGPHF) is pleased to announce a partnership with the Manicouagan-Uapishka Biosphere Reserve ("RMBMU") in respect of the development of the Company's Lac Guéret project. Mason Graphite will leverage the expertise of the Reference Center in sustainable development of the RMBMU in all aspects of community relations. The Company is advancing the development of a graphite deposit located 300 km North of Baie-Comeau and establishing the related processing plant in the Baie-Comeau region.

The main objective of the partnership is the implementation of a project meeting the highest standards of sustainable mining development and social acceptability. This approach will allow Mason Graphite to plan and optimize its project taking into account the concerns, aspirations and expectations of the community. This dialogue will help to harmonize land uses, maximize social and economic benefits and minimize its environmental impact.

Benoît Gascon, CEO of Mason Graphite, explained: "This partnership demonstrates our commitment to implement our project taking into account all aspects of sustainable development and social acceptability. It will be a valuable platform in community relationship."

Activities to inform the population will take place shortly and will be followed by a consultation process over the coming months. "We attach great importance to the environment and sustainable development and we want to establish lasting ties with the people of Manicouagan. This is also why we are already in regular communication with regional stakeholders and that, in 2014, we signed a cooperation agreement with the Pessamit First Nation for the implementation of the project."

The involvement of RMBMU will facilitate establishing a framework that will ensure harmonious integration of the project within the environment and the community. "Social acceptability is today an inescapable concept. The communication process has real merit only if it allows the entire community to obtain accurate, appropriate and rigorous information in order to build an understanding of the project and its benefits on our region," commented Jean-Philippe Messier, Director of RMBMU.
