Police have searched a home near to a field where Julia James’ body was found.
A man in his 20s was arrested on Friday night in connection with the the mother-of-two’s murder.
Ms James, a popular community support officer, was found dead in Akholt Wood near her home in Snowdown, Kent, on April 27.
A post-mortem examination revealed the 53-year-old died from significant head injuries.
Kent Police have said a British man in his 20s from the Canterbury area was arrested at 9.30pm last night.
On Saturday, a police forensic team searched a new build home in Aylesham near the field where Ms James’ body was found.
Officers were photographed carrying bagged-up items out of the property.
It comes after police released a picture of a man “crucially important” to the investigation who was seen in the area the day after Ms James’ body was found.
Kent Police confirmed last night that they had identified the man and were no longer seeking information about him.
Assistant Chief Constable Tom Richards, from Kent Police, said: “We continue to urge anyone with information, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, to contact us.
“If you were in the Snowdown area between 1pm and 4.30pm on Tuesday 27 April, please contact us.
“This includes anyone local who may have seen something out of place at the time, or who came across someone who made them feel uneasy – such as feeling compelled to cross the road or change the route they were walking.”
The National Crime Agency said it was still supporting the local force with officers from its Major Crime Investigative Support unit as well as giving them access to specialists.
NSIOA Noel McHugh, from the NCA’s Major Crime Investigative Support unit, said: “The NCA is providing a significant amount of our niche capabilities in support of this high-priority investigation led by Kent Police.
“While we cannot go into any further detail in order to protect the investigation, I hope outlining the breadth of our work illustrates our commitment to seeking justice for Julia.
“MCIS officers are extremely experienced in supporting such investigations and, along with the wider NCA, work closely with police forces throughout the UK every day as part of our collective, whole system response to tackle serious crime.”
Ms James was attacked while walking her beloved Jack Russell Toby, who stayed with her body until it was found.
Police previously said they were stumped by the murder and had no suspects.
Ms James’ devastated husband has paid tribute to her on social media, updating his profile picture to an image of them together on their wedding day.
Paul James, 57, used the “Help us find #justiceforjulia” frame which many people have adopted to spread awareness.
Mr James commented beneath it: “I miss you so much Luvly xxx.”
The attack has terrified women living in the close-knit community, leaving many afraid to leave their homes.
