Major indices leap to new all-time highs

It’s the trifecta! All three major averages hitting all-time highs today as oil gets back in the game. Catch The Final Round at 4 p.m. ET with Yahoo Finance’s Jen Rogers and editor-in-chief Andy Serwer.

Winners and losers

Let’s take a look at some of today’s winners and losers. Stocks weakening ahead of the Thanksgiving break include Canadian Solar as the solar panel maker missed on the both the top and bottom lines due to weaker shipments; Acordia Therapeutics as the drug maker will abandon development of its treatment for post-stroke walking difficulties; and Tyson Foods, with shares of the Andy Serwer favorite dropping after the chicken and beef producer missed on earnings and forward guidance and announced CEO Donnie Smith would be replaced.

Stocks getting a boost today include LifeLock as the ID theft protection firm will be acquired by Symantec for $2.3 billion; Facebook after it announced a $6 billion stock buyback plan, its first share repurchase; and Netflix, with shares pulling higher as Brean initiated coverage with a ‘buy’ rating, claiming Netflix has an “unstoppable lead” in the Internet TV business.

  • We’ll get earning reports from Campbell Soup Company, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and bookseller Barnes & Noble.

  • Finally—for the Prince fans—a new compilation album, “Prince 4Ever” will be released by the late singer’s NPG Records and Warner Bros. The album features 39 songs from the Warner Bros era, plus a previously unreleased track , Moonbeam Levels, that was recorded in 1982 for the “1999” album.
