Major Glitch Causes Another Headache for Costco Credit Card Users

From Good Housekeeping

Some Costco credit card users weren't too happy when they opened their emails this weekend.

According to Business Insider, last Friday, some Costco-Visa users received an email saying their accounts had been shut down. The emails were supposed to go to members whose accounts had expired, but a glitch in the system caused them to go to several active users.

Needless to say, customers were a little, erm, confused by the emails.

Citigroup, who now issues the Costco-Visa cards, told Business Insider that the glitch only affected a small percentage of members. The company sent an email apologizing for the mishap and told members to disregard the previous one. They also assured members that their accounts were not compromised.

Since the company made the switch to Visa in June, there have been some ups and downs regarding their credit cards. At first, people threatened to leave the club to join another after they failed to receive their new cards and reportedly had trouble with customer service. But it seems, that even with the glitch, customers are getting along just fine with the change.
