Yahoo Finance LOTR and Gavin & Stacey stars join GoT's Peter Dinklage in new movie
Lord of the Rings icon Elijah Wood and Gavin & Stacey's Julia Davis have both been cast in upcoming reboot The Toxic Avenger.
Their involvement was confirmed by Deadline, while Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage, Doctor Sleep's Jacob Tremblay and Kevin Bacon are already onboard director Macon Blair's movie.
It's currently unspecified who Wood and Davis's characters will be.

Subverting the superhero genre just like Deadpool, this modern reimagining of the 1984 midnight movie could be the perfect tonic for the endless list of Marvel and DC projects on their way to the big screen.
"When a struggling everyman is pushed into a vat of toxic waste, he is transformed into a mutant freak who must go from shunned outcast to underdog hero as he races to save his son, his friends and his community from the forces of corruption and greed," reads a description.

The original Toxic Avenger spawned three sequels, a kids TV cartoon, a video game and a musical stage production.
Remakes of cult classics are certainly a risky business, but with this stellar cast, the odds are stacked in its favour.
There is currently no confirmed release date for The Toxic Avenger.
