Loblaws brings 'Click and Collect' grocery option to Winnipeg

Loblaws brings 'Click and Collect' grocery option to Winnipeg

Loblaws has introduced its Click and Collect grocery pickup service at two Winnipeg locations.

The service lets customers select their groceries online and then pick up the full order at a specific time and location for a fee between $3 and $5 depending on pickup time.

"A customer can go online — shop.superstore.ca — do all their grocery shopping, choose from 30,000 different items that are available in their store — same prices, promotions, deals — and then when they arrive to the stores, pick it up," said Lauren Steinberg, the director of e-commerce marketing at Loblaws. "We'll bring it out to their car. We'll even load it into their trunk for them."

The service is coming to their Superstore Portage Avenue location and the Real Canadian Superstore Bison Drive location, making them the 60th and 61st locations across Canada to get the service.

It will expand to the Canadian Superstore Sargent location and the Real Canadian Superstore McPhillips Street location next week.

"[Customers can] swing by on their way home, on their way to pick up their kids.… They get a two-hour time slot for pickup," she said. "If they show up late, it's no problem."

So far, there are no delivery options at Loblaws anywhere in Canada, but Steinberg said they're "always looking at options."

"If we hear from customers that that's something that they want, we'll absolutely visit that," said Steinberg.
