Listen to Alessia Cara Cover Frank Ocean and Earl Sweatshirt's "Super Rich Kids"
Last year, Alessia Cara made an impressive debut with her hit single "Here." In the time since then, we've watched the young Canadian singer perfect her craft and grow into an artist that more listeners have to pay attention to. One of the most stunning qualities about this young talent is the raspy but simultaneously sweet tone of her voice.
During a recent interview with Annie Mac on her BBC Radio 1 show, Cara touched on her career so far and played a few cuts from her debut album Know-It-All. After performing "Scars to Your Beautiful" (3:50) and "Rivers of Tears" (11:39), Cara and her band delivered their cover of Frank Ocean and Earl Sweatshirt's collaboration "Super Rich Kids" (21:30). Before beginning, Cara explained that she chose this song because she thinks "it's so genius, beautiful lyrically" and that she loved the melody as well.
For her rendition, Cara effortlessly tackles both Frank and Earl's parts, and brings a new perspective to the already beautiful song with her unique tone.
