Lee’s Summit man is charged with human trafficking as part of multi-agency sting effort

Platte County prosecutors have accused a 29-year-old man with trafficking and attempting to sexually exploit several women following a multi-agency human trafficking sting.

Sean D. Green of Lee’s Summit has been charged with felony trafficking for purposes of sexual exploitation. One victim said Green sent her on “dates” because she owed him money, according to court records.

Platte County Prosecutor Eric Zahnd said his office filed the charges on Thursday following an investigation that began in August. That effort was called “Operation United Front” and included FBI, Kansas City and Riverside police departments.

According to court records, the victim said she was contacted by a man name “Huss” who instructed her to go to the Argosy Casino Hotel in Platte County. “Huss” was later identified by authorities as Green.

The woman told investigators that she did not know that Green had previously made arrangements for her through a website commonly used by sex traffickers, according to court records.

The woman said Green had previously threatened to kill her if she did not return with the money she received for engaging in the sex acts. Green also had beaten her several times, prosecutors allege.

The criminal charges were the result of a multi-agency human trafficking sting operation. The Missouri Highway Patrol was among the agencies that led the investigation.

Green had allegedly paid a known sex trafficking website for commercial sex advertisements for five women, including the two victims in Platte County, Zahnd said.

In August, Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt announced that “Operation United Front” yielded 102 arrests and the rescue of 47 victims and sex workers. Two of the arrests and four of the victims were in Kansas City.

The investigation relied on undercover officers who arranged dates or meetups with potential human trafficking victims or who posed as victims so the buyer or trafficker could be identified, Schmitt said.
