LeBoycott: Hoops Superstar LeBron James Refusing to Stay at Trump Hotels

NBA superstar LeBron James, who endorsed Hillary Clinton in the November election, is reportedly boycotting Donald Trump's hotels, and will stay elsewhere whenever his team checks in to one.

James has refused to join his Cleveland Cavaliers at the Trump SoHo Hotel in Manhattan when the reigning NBA champions take on the New York Knicks Wednesday.

And he's not alone, as several of James' teammates, including J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert, have reportedly joined the boycott and the team has made arrangements for them to stay at hotels outside of the Trump brand.

Following the real estate mogul’s election win, Shumpert told Complex that he would not go to the White House should the Cavs win another championship during the Trump administration.

The president-elect surprised reporters as he emerged from the elevator at Trump Tower Tuesday, just moments after blasting Boeing in a tweet about Air Force One.

He took to his favorite social media platform to vent: “Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order!”

Shortly after the Twitter post, he told reporters at Trump Tower: "The plane is totally out of control. It’s going to be over $4 billion for Air Force One program and I think it’s ridiculous. I think Boeing is doing a little bit of a number. We want Boeing to make a lot of money, but not that much money.”

Boeing responded in a statement: “We look forward to working with the U.S. Air Force on subsequent phases of the program allowing us to deliver the best planes for the president at the best value for the American taxpayer.”
