Although superstar Justin Bieber might be taking a break from making music, his 2011 Christmas album “Under the Mistletoe” could be the perfect record to get you into the holiday spirit this year. The album peaked at No.1 on the Billboard 200 and the song “Mistletoe” scored over 1 million downloads.

Since his days singing covers on YouTube, the pop star’s career hasn’t slowed down — until his recent break to get married to Hailey Baldwin. Although the time off hasn’t hurt his net worth, making millions hasn’t always been the status quo for the Biebs. Take a look at how he went from rags to riches.

His 2017 earnings were $83.5 million, according to Forbes, which was the largest annual haul of his career so far.

Bieber spent much of 2016 and 2017 on the road for his “Purpose” tour. The “Love Yourself” singer played more than 150 shows in 40 countries across the globe before he canceled the 14 shows remaining on his tour in July 2017 due to personal reasons. The “Purpose” tour was one of the highest-grossing tours that year, earning over $250 million in ticket sales.

The success of Bieber’s last album, “Purpose,” confirms fans have forgiven him for his bad boy antics of the past. The album has sold more than 4 million copies, and three songs — “Love Yourself,” “Sorry” and “What Do You Mean?” — hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.

The success of “Purpose” helped him land eight Guinness World Records, including both most streamed track — for “What Do You Mean?” — and album.

The Canadian star struck gold when he teamed up with Latin artists Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee to deliver the massive hit “Despacito.” The song won the Latin Grammy for song of the year and won the Guinness World Record for most streamed track worldwide.

Justin Bieber Personal Life

Before his last album’s November 2015 release, Bieber focused on cleaning up his image after spending a few years seemingly trying to destroy it.

His bad boy antics, which included a January 2014 arrest in Miami for careless driving and resisting arrest, are said to be behind him now. The singer has acknowledged that he hasn’t always surrounded himself with the best people in the past, and he takes responsibility for his actions.

“It has to be on you,” Bieber told radio host Elvis Duran on the Elvis Duran’s Morning Show in a 2015 interview. “You have to make the conscious effort,” he said. “Because for me, so many times it was good people coming in my life and tugging at me, but I wasn’t ready.”

In July 2018, Bieber surprised fans when he announced his engagement to model Hailey Baldwin on Instagram. The pair married shortly after in October.

Justin Bieber Career

Sky-high earnings are nothing new for Bieber. In 2013, the then-19-year-old reportedly earned $58 million from revenues of his 2012 and 2013 legs of his “Believe” tour. One year earlier, he reportedly earned $400,000 per concert appearance, brought in $7.1 million in earnings for album sales of his “Believe” album, and earned $12.25 million for 35 shows of the “Believe” tour.

In 2014, he topped Forbes’ list of the highest-earning celebrities under 30 years old, raking in a reported $80 million at just age 20. Most of the money came from the tail end of his last world tour.

Justin Bieber’s net worth has also been padded with ventures including $73 million from his 2011 film “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never,” more than $3 million in sales from his Someday perfume and $3 million from an endorsement deal with Proactiv skincare in 2010.
