Jamie-Lynn Sigler Lists and Quickly Lands Buyer Above L.A.’s Sunset Strip

SELLER: Jamie-Lynn Sigler
LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA
PRICE: $2,050,000
SIZE: 2,187 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms

YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Within 10 days of putting their fully updated circa 1936 home on a quiet cul-de-sac above L.A.’s ever-teeming Sunset Strip up for sale with a $2.05 million price tag, actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler and husband Cutter Dykstra, minor league baseball playing son of former Major League baseball player Lenny Dykstra, accepted an offer on the property. Listing agent Cameron Christensen of Keller Williams told the celebrity property gossips at Realtor.com “The Sopranos” star, who more recently held down recurring roles on “Entourage,” “Ugly Betty,” and “Babby Daddy,” purposefully priced the property aggressively in order to quickly pull in multiple offers. Lo and behold, not only did that desired real estate bonanza come to pass but the unidentified buyers are also negotiating to buy some of the furnishings. Property records indicate Miz Sigler acquired the three-bedroom and three-bathroom residence in July 2012 for $1.601 million and current marketing materials show the 2,187-square-foot two-story traditional features a “Turnkey interior with modern flair”.

The front door opens to a slender center hall entry that gives way to a reasonably roomy living room with ebonized wood floors, a low-seeming beamed ceiling, and inset bookshelves on either side of a television-surmounted fireplace. A nearly floor-to-ceiling bay window looks out the front yard and a wide bank of wood-trimmed glass doors on the opposite wall conveniently lead to the backyard. The formal dining area, an alcove-like space with an unfortunately off-center set of French doors on its back wall, is somewhat unusually open to the eat-in kitchen’s informal dining area and boldly sheathed in florid, paisley-patterned wall paper toned down only by its restrained black and white palette. The kitchen, part of which has vertical stripe wall treatment that some might argue conflicts with rather than balances the paisley paper in the adjoining dining room, sports slab marble countertops, a graphic mix of sleek black and white cabinetry, and an extensive array of stainless steel designer appliances including a six-burner range, wine fridge and built-in coffee maker. A downstairs bedroom, which appears to have been converted to a sky-lit family room by the Sigler-Dykstras, opens to a private patio through French doors and both of the upstairs bedrooms benefit from renovated en suite bathrooms.

The unconventionally shaped parcel encompasses a relatively skimpy .14-acres so it seems a smart choice to privatize the front yard and, hence, add to the property’s outdoor living spaces with a tall and sinuous hedge that swoops around a graveled lounging terrace while the backyard, set against a curving stacked stone retaining wall and charmingly crisscrossed overhead by numerous strands of fairy lights, squeezes a dining and lounging terrace as well as a small swimming pool and spa with flag stone coping.

Miz Sigler, who revealed earlier this year she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when she was 20 years old, once owned homes in Las Vegas, NV, and Palm Beach Gardens, FL, as well as a house-sized condo near L.A.’s Westwood Village that was sold in 2006 for $1.233 million and a 2,572-square-foot duplex condo on the ground floor and basement level of a nondescript building in the heart of New York City’s Tribeca ‘hood that she picked up May 2006 for $2.15 million and sold at a tidy profit just over two years later for $2.9 million.
