Yahoo Finance Jamie Lee Curtis says she watched her child transition 'in wonder and pride' as a trans woman
Jamie Lee Curtis is adding wedding officiant to her catalogue of roles, but it's all part of her job as proud parent.
The "Knives Out" actress revealed in the August/September issue of AARP's magazine that her child, whom she shares with her husband director Christopher Guest, is a trans woman. With permission from their 25-year old daughter Ruby, Curtis shared that she and Guest have watched with "wonder and pride" as their child transitioned.
Curtis also announced news of Ruby's upcoming nuptials.
"She and her fiancé will get married next year at a wedding that I will officiate,” Curtis told the magazine in an interview published Thursday.
Ruby is the youngest of Curtis and Guests' children. The two also share an older daughter, Annie, who is 34.
Curtis and Guest join a list of celebrities who have been openly supportive of their trans and nonbinary children, including Dwyane Wade and Busy Phillipps.
Wade announced his 14-year-old daughter Zaya's gender identity on a February 2020 episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

"This is her life every day. This is no game to us," Wade said of he and his wife Gabrielle Union's feelings at the time. "We're all about protecting her heart, we're about protecting her joy and to do that, we have to support her."
"Girls5Eva" actress Philipps has also been vocal in supporting her child's pronouns.
Philipps opened up about a conversation with 12-year-old Birdie, who said they are gay, nonbinary and uses "they/them" pronouns.

"So Birdie, my out kid, prefers they/them," Philipps shared in a Dec. 30 episode of her podcast "Busy Philipps Is Doing Her Best," adding she loves "that kid" and feels "like I finally just really understand a lot of bigger things, life-wise."
She also opened up during Pride Month in June with an Instagram post dedicated to her child, expressing her "pride for this kid and everything they are and do."
"Birdie decided to start gathering the unopened makeup and hygiene items from me and other influencer types(actors, singers, makeup and hair artists) to donate to the @lalgbtcenter for the queer and trans youth that the Center provides a safe space for," Philipps wrote. "Well. Thanks to many of my friends, Birdie was able to donate HUNDREDS of items to the center."
