International Datacasting to Participate at Russia's Sviaz/ExpoComm Show

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 9, 2013) - International Datacasting Corporation (IDC.TO) will participate at next week's Sviaz/ExpoComm, taking place May 14-17 at the Expocentre Fairgrounds in Moscow. The focus in the IDC booth will be on IDC's LASER™ Targeted Ad Insertion Platform and its STAR Pro AudioTM solution. The company's booth will be within the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development & Trade stand - Booth 21C65. In its 25th year, Sviaz/ExpoComm is the largest mass communications technology exhibition in Russia and Eastern Europe.

IDC's LASER platform offers targeted local ad insertion and DVB-S/S2 satellite video reception in one cost-effective platform. With the LASER solution, operators can provide regionalized ad insertion and blackout management for satellite delivered content - from one cost-effective platform. The solution's blackout capabilities ensure the broadcaster can safely sell and distribute any network-wide ad, even if it is not permitted or suitable for the entire distribution footprint.

IDC recently unveiled the second generation of its popular STAR Pro Audio receiver, which features localized ad insertion to provide new revenue generating opportunities for radio networks. The solution improves flexibility and offers time-shifting functionality, allowing broadcasters to play the right content at the ideal time. Broadcasters can adjust for time zones and adapt to conflicting live programming schedules. The STAR Pro Audio solution also uses up to 70-percent less bandwidth when compared to competitive solutions and significantly lowers per-channel costs through shared hub support.

"Since Eastern Europe is an important region to IDC and Sviaz/ExpoComm is such a prestigious industry event, we knew this expo would provide ultimate exposure to this market," said Virginia Lee Williams, Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing, International Datacasting. "We're looking forward to meeting with existing and potential customers, discovering any recent trends in this region, and highlighting our latest technology developments during Sviaz/ExpoComm."
